Deadline for applications to the
Chigiana-Mozarteum Baroque Program 2022

Siena, 16 June 2022 – Two more weeks remain to register for the Baroque Music courses at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. The deadline for applications to enroll in the Chigiana-Mozarteum Baroque Program 2022, has been extended to June 30th. The courses will take place in Siena, in collaboration with the Department of Early Music at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg from August 27 to September 3 within the frame of the advanced-level summer courses of the Accademia Chigiana.
For the 2022 edition, the course offering has been expanded to add three new courses: Recorder, Violin and Cello, held respectively by Dorothée Oberlinger, Hiro Kurosaki and Marco Testori, in addition to Singing with Andreas Scholl, Harpsichord and basso continuo with Florian Birsak, Traverso with Marcello Gatti, Oboe with Alfredo Bernardini and Viola da gamba and consort di viole with Vittorio Ghielmi.
The Chigiana-Mozarteum Baroque Program has also started the BaroqueLab, a workshop dedicated to musical theatre performed with period instruments that will be opened this year with the production of “La Senna festeggiante”, Serenata for three voices and orchestra by Antonio Vivaldi, on Friday September 2nd at 9:15pm at the Church of Sant’Agostino in Siena. BaroqueLab features the best students of the courses along with the Maestri of the Mozarteum University Salzburg, who come together to form the new ensemble in residence Chigiana – Mozarteum Baroque Orchestra, conducted by Alfredo Bernardini.
