Florian Birsak was born in Salzburg, and has made a name for himself as a soloist on the hapsichord, fortepiano and clavichord. He received his musical training in his home town, and in Munich, where his teachers in harpsichord and performance practice were Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Liselotte Brändle, Kenneth Gilbert and Anthony Spiri. Florian Birsak proceeded to find success in international competitions. The study of historic musical practice is an essential source of inspiration for him, and is a decisive factor in the constant analysis and character of his style of making music. He explores a variety of music for keyboard instruments, revealing the rich nuances of the many different instruments of past eras. He appears frequently as a soloist and continuo player with renowned chamber ensembles and orchestras. Recently, he has become increasingly involved in his own solo and chamber music projects. Since 2013, he is the professor of harpsichord and basso continuo at the Mozarteum Unsiversity, Salzburg.
